Sharec Joins O'Neill Communications

May 22, 2008

Carly Sharec has joined O'Neill Communications as communications coordinator for the Atlanta-based marketing and public relations agency.

"I'm very pleased Carly joined our team," O'Neill Communications Vice President Valerie Buxton says. "With a background in both writing and television, her unique perspective and fresh opinions add even more depth to our talented, creative staff."

Sharec brings experience in writing and reporting to the table, having worked as a reporter and editor for the Times-Courier, a weekly newspaper serving Gilmer County in the north Georgia mountains. As a reporter, she covered the Gilmer County government, wrote human-interest stories and was also responsible for editing the editorial page.

Sharec also has a background in producing, writing and hosting "The Animal Show," a 30-minute television program. The program, now in reruns, airs in Fannin, Gilmer and Pickens counties along with portions of north Cherokee County and the Copper Basin area in Tennessee.

"Having experience in both broadcast television and print media, I am excited to begin the next chapter in my career as a part of a full service marketing agency," Sharec says. "The standard of excellence that O'Neill Communications requires of all its work is something that inspires and intrigues me. I'm thrilled with the opportunity to be a part of this business, and can't wait to get acquainted with our clients."

Sharec grew up in Gilmer County, graduating in 2004 from Gilmer High School. She went on to graduate with an associate of arts degree in liberal studies from Young Harris College in 2005, and then attained her bachelor of arts degree in communications with a minor in English from Berry College in Rome, Ga. in 2007.

O'Neill Communications has emerged as a leader for clients in the national and international food industry, tourism, technology and state and national associations. Established in 1987, O'Neill Communications specializes in marketing, advertising, public relations, web services and publishing services for companies, associations and governmental institutions.
