Transwestern's Atlanta Sustainability Expert Appointed To U.S. Green Building Council Board Of Directors
June 12, 2008
Boeck, who has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, had participated previously as a select member of the USGBC’s Portfolio Committee, responsible for developing criteria for portfolio planning and standards for the implementation of “green” practices across multiple-building portfolios. As a member of the Atlanta chapter’s board of directors, Boeck also will serve on its Advocacy Committee, which will advance the agenda of sustainability throughout the state of Georgia.
“Tom has been considered an expert in sustainability issues for years,” said Jim Ledbetter, president of Transwestern’s Southeast region, “and so has Transwestern. Since 1999 we’ve proactively embraced energy management practices and the green movement, and our sustainability experts are increasingly recognized as leaders in the field. We’re now in our best position yet to reduce our environmental footprint and provide real value for our client owners and tenants.”
Boeck, along with Greg O’Brien and Adam Slakman, leads Transwestern’s Atlanta sustainability team, which provides sustainable real estate solutions through landlord, tenant leasing and development services throughout the region. Their team joins forces with Transwestern’s LEED accredited professionals across the country in providing strategic solutions that allow clients to meet their sustainability objectives while seeing significant economic returns.
Transwestern is a leader in the USGBC LEED for Existing Buildings Operation and Maintenance (LEED for Existing Buildings: O&M) Pilot Portfolio Program, with 51 of its 500 existing buildings registered to become LEED for Existing Buildings: O&M certified. Transwestern also has hands-on experience in LEED for New Construction and LEED for Commercial Interiors (LEED-CI). Transwestern’s Chicago office is now LEED-CI certified, soon to be followed by its Atlanta office, which is also undergoing its LEED for Existing Buildings: O&M certification.
