George T. Olmstead, Jr. Launches Olmstead Realty

June 19, 2008

Olmstead has developed a special niche in Metro Atlanta’s real estate community over the past ten years, serving the commercial real estate needs of healthcare professionals.  His real estate career began as a leasing manager and director of retail relations for AMC, Inc.’s AmericasMart Atlanta.  In 1998, Olmstead joined Cousins as the Director of Investor Relations. Working with the COO, CFO and the SVP of Accounting, Olmstead was the point person for all communication between Cousins and Wall Street.  From 2004 and continuing to this day, Olmstead has exclusively handled all of Cousins’ medical office buildings, whereas prior to 2004 he was part of a larger medical office leasing team, dating back to 1998.  In late 2005, he joined Kirbo Property Services as a partner in the firm.

With nearly fifteen years of representing both tenants and companies in office and medical office leases and sales, Olmstead brings with him an extensive portfolio of experience to Olmstead Realty. His portfolio includes leasing properties such as The Wildwood Office Park, INFORUM, One Georgia Center, 615 Peachtree, Emory Long Medical Office Tower and Meridian Mark Plaza.

“My focus on the healthcare industry will provide the foundation for my companies’ initial activities,” said Olmstead.  “I believe the growth opportunities here are tremendous due to the aging population, the increasing sophistication in healthcare and of course Atlanta’s continuous growth.”

With a bachelor’s degree in History and a minor in English from Emory University, Olmstead is a member of the Urban Land Institute, Central Atlanta Progress’ Downtown Office Coalition, Midtown Alliance’s Leasing Managers Partnership and the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
