AIG Advisor Group Names Mark J. Schlafly President and CEO of FSC Securities Corporation and Advantage Capital Corporation

Schlafly joins AIG Advisor Group from LPL Financial where he served as Senior Vice President of Brokerage Products and Services. In this capacity, he was responsible for business development, planning and coordination of sponsor relationships. Additionally, Schlafly was responsible for National Sales of Brokerage Products and also managed LPL’s Financial Planning Group, which is focused on providing tailored planning capabilities to advisors.
Previously, Schlafly, a 25-year veteran of the asset management industry, served as Vice President and Manager of Managed Products at A.G. Edwards. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the firm’s mutual fund sales and marketing, which included the mutual fund, exchange traded funds, and defined portfolios’ sales desks, in addition to the managed products fee-based advisory programs. Additionally, Schlafly was involved in the marketing and training programs designed to inform and educate clients and financial consultants about the managed product choices available through the firm.
Schlafly earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from St. Louis University. He is a graduate of the Securities Institute from the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. Schlafly has his life insurance and Series 7 licenses and also is a Certified Financial Planner. He is on the Board of the Invest in Others Foundation, the MMI Board of Governors Executive Committee and the Board of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay Executive Committee.
