Corporate Volunteer Programs and Partner Nonprofits Will be Recognized For Their Impact On Metro Atlanta Communities
June 5, 2008
The Metro Atlanta Corporate Volunteer Council (MACVC) is accepting corporate nominations for its
11th annual IMPACT Awards. The event will once again honor and recognize four outstanding corporate
employee volunteer programs that demonstrate leadership in anticipating and responding to the
changing needs of the Atlanta community through strategic community outreach programs. Awards will
be divided into four categories: project, emerging program, innovative/collaborative program and
IMPACT.
New this year: Award winners will be able to share their success with a partner nonprofit by
designating a grant of up to $15,000 from the MACVC on their behalf. The nomination form
provides details on how companies can indicate which partner it would choose if selected as an
award winning company in one of the categories listed above. All nominees, as well as the
award-winning company’s selected nonprofit, will also be recognized at the IMPACT Awards Luncheon.
Finalists will be announced in July but the winners of the awards, and therefore the grants,
will not be revealed until the IMPACT Awards Luncheon in September.
“Whether it is an emerging, evolving, innovative, or established program, the MACVC hosts its
annual IMPACT Awards to recognize and honor Atlanta’s companies and our peers who have shown the
true spirit of giving through their exemplary corporate volunteer programs,” said Whitney Munn,
manager of community relations at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP and 2008 president of the Metro Atlanta
CVC.
Corporate winners of the 2007 IMPACT Awards included The Federal Reserve Bank of
Atlanta (IMPACT), HRWorks (Innovative/Collaborative), Choice Point Inc (Project) and Hunton &
Williams LLP (Emerging). Fulton County CASA, English for Successful Living and Families First
received a total of $30,000 as recipients of the 2007 nonprofit grants.
