Silverpop Strengthens International Expansion Efforts
June 19, 2008
Silverpop, a premier provider of on-demand solutions serving the online relationship marketing
needs of enterprise-level organizations throughout the world, today announced the promotion of Will
Schnabel to vice president of international markets.
Previously Schnabel was vice president and general manager of Vtrenz, Silverpop's BtoB
marketing automation solution. In his new position, Schnabel is responsible for overseeing
Silverpop’s international operations and expansion strategy across Europe and Asia. He has broad
international management experience, having lived and worked for many years in Singapore, Japan,
Korea and Germany in an executive role with Accenture.
"Silverpop has achieved solid successes in the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe,
where our operations are growing very quickly," said Silverpop CEO Bill Nussey in making the
announcement. "Will brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and talent to our efforts to accelerate
the roll-out of Silverpop's marketing suite of on-demand solutions across the rest of the world."
Long ranked a leader in the email marketing industry in the United States, Silverpop has
achieved strong international growth, particularly in Northern European markets. International
marketing operations for the company will be managed from its London office, which has recently
doubled in size due to the company's expanding international client base.
Email marketing growth is expected to remain very strong throughout Europe and Asia. In
fact, Forrester Research estimates the European email market increasing from €1.5 billion in 2007
to €2.3 billion in 2012. That increase will mean more companies fighting for space in consumers'
inboxes. Silverpop will offer the technology and strategy to help marketers worldwide use
sophisticated targeting, messaging and analytics to better engage customers.
"Now more than ever, marketers are findings that every euro spent on marketing must be
accounted for and deliver a strong return-on-investment," Schnabel said. "The measurability of
interactive marketing and the huge ROI marketers achieve from strengthening online relationships
with customers makes Silverpop an ideal toolset. And Silverpop is committed to helping our clients
engage with their customers and prospects in ways that create sales opportunities, drive revenue
and support brand loyalty."
Among a number of international events in which Silverpop will be represented in the coming
months, Schnabel will be speaking at ad:tech Singapore , scheduled for June 26 and 27. He will be
leading a session titled "Automated Marketing - Marketing Beyond the Click." The session will
review the importance of automating digital communication channels to build relationships, engage
customers and prospects while gathering insights into the results of online expenditures.
Additionally, Silverpop is sponsoring a special breakfast session during the event to discuss
the unique challenges faced by online marketers in Asia-Pacific.
